Olivia is a career focused woman. No time for relationships, or even one off’s. She works in the family business, per se. Her Dad owns an oil company, and since her mom died, Olivia always strives to be everything to her Dad. She kind of wants to be the “son” her Dad never had. She works hard, not so much for her, but to prove her Dad and all other men that she has what it takes to do the job, do it well or better than anyone else from the opposite sex. Her latest mission is to close one of the biggest deals for her company. That deal is the ultimate test. The closing of such deal can make her CEO. The thing she never expects is to be challenged with business, lust and love when she meets Sheikh Khaled.
Sheikh Khaled wants to do business with Olivia’s company, and that is not because that’s his wish. He just wants to do right by his people of Sagat; he knows the deal will bring prosperity to his people. The problem is he into saving the environment. Um, yeah… that’s a problem, especially when dealing with oil. He takes his time to explain Olivia while this deal means prosperity, it also brings the risk of many things going wrong and messing with the environment.
Well, that’s not the only problem. His biggest problem is he likes Olivia; he likes her so much, he propositions her to spend together one night and one night only. Oh and Khaled is such a jerk, he tells her flat out nothing more can ever exist between them, because he can only marry someone from within his circle. I wanted to slap him! How dare he?! Of course, that one night is only a taste of the forbidden for both.
Overall, this was a very sweet romance story. The characters realize their priorities are not what they should be, and that what may seem wrong is actually right. It is pretty much a clean romance, so, clean romance lovers out there would love this one.
I had lots of fun reading this story, as I always do with anything Ros Clarke writes.
