The beginning of the book did grab me, but a few chapters in it kinda went in a different direction than I had expected. The story slowed a bit then picked up the pace again, but I wasn’t too thrilled with the turn of events. I would’ve thought Eva would’ve let Carson in the secret a lot earlier than when he discovered it. Then, with Carson leaving and coming back after he’d cooled off, that could’ve probably worked better if she’d given him a harder time forgiving him; even if she didn’t really have anything to forgive, Eva could’ve made it a bit harder for him.
Overall it was a good story, misunderstandings, secrets and untold truths. For me, the conclusion was the make or break. Maybe if there’d been an epilogue? Again, it still is a good story.
