In Beautiful Liar, Zara Cox takes the reader into the glamorous world of Quinn Blackwood. He’s filthy rich and dangerously dark. He’s used to getting what he wants when he wants it, and how he wants it. No one can ever say no to him. Quinn always finds a way around everything. It’s needless to say no one can escape him.
The need for revenge blinds him to everything, even his own life until Elyse, aka Lucky, comes along.
Lucky has her own demons to fight and Quinn facilitates her a way out. Even though she cares about the implications it may have, it is a means to an end.
Quinn/Q is royally f*cked up. He’s this beautiful man but gosh, is he dark, mean, cold-hearted. And yet, his character is so well defined that you feel sympathy for what he’s lived through and understand why he’s so set in avenging his mother’s death.
Lucky isn’t as psychologically messed up as him. She has her own issues, and how can anyone blame her? Her own father forced her to prostitute herself and she’d do anything so that her younger sister doesn’t have to live the life she’s had.
Beautiful Liar is the kind of book that will mind f*ck you at times with the situations the characters go through, their struggles to survive and how they learn to love each other. Zara Cox is a new-to-me author, who’s now on my go-to list.
