It’s been awhile, yet again since I last shared 3 Netflix thrillers you should watch or not… The thing is I got hooked on Van Helsing (SyFy show) and then, to be honest, Netflix hasn’t really come up with much of anything worth recommending lately.
Netflix has been bringing new seasons on previously recommended shows, and they’ve been posting a lot of new international shows, which I’d normally watch the problem is these are mostly shows I’ve zero interest in.
Anyhow, I’ve been able to find a few that I think are worth a try and should you feel adventurous these might just fit your mood.
This is a German psychological time-travel thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat through each episode, and they better have a season 2 or there’ll be thousands of distraught fans. One thing I’ll say is, you’ll have to really focus and pay attention in the first two episodes as there are important flashbacks that will help explain what happens later in the story. This show is addicting and will keep you guessing whether the kid will find his/her future self all grown up. The nuclear plant in the middle of the forest will have you questioning many a thing, including who is kidnapping some of the kids.
Although the trailer is in German, you can change the audio to English in Netflix. This way you don’t have to worry about reading subtitles.
La Casa De Papel
This is a Spanish thriller that will keep you entertained guessing whether their plan to print millions of untraceable Euros will work and if they’ll succeed at getting the money out of the building they’re in. Although there’s some romance laced in the story, it is not the focus. Last, whoever you think the mastermind behind the plan is, you’ll be wrong until the end.
This is based on a story by Margaret Atwood. The easy way in which Grace lies and everyone believes her every word will make you blink. Her innocent looks will deceive you. She comes across as sweet as honey, but through her monologue you hear what she’s really thinking every time she says a lie. The web of lies she weaves around everyone is unbelievably incredible. This is supposed to be based on a true story and who knows if the truth ever came to light.
